The TikTok $200 credit — full breakdown.
Every tier, every catch, and every "why didn't it apply" question — answered in plain English. TikTok changes these promo terms occasionally, so bookmark this page. When the terms update, this page updates with them.
The TikTok new advertiser credit is one of the few genuinely good deals in digital advertising: spend a set amount, get a matching amount back in ad credit. But it comes with conditions that aren't well explained anywhere official — which is why so many first-time advertisers either miss it entirely or set it up wrong and wonder why the credit never appeared.
This page explains the current structure of the offer, how to qualify, the most common failure modes, and when you should (and shouldn't) bother.
The current offer (August 2026)
TikTok's new advertiser credit offer as of this update works as a spend-match structure: register a new TikTok for Business account through the partner link, meet the minimum spend threshold within the promotional window, and receive matching ad credit up to the stated maximum.
The credit is deposited as account balance — it spends exactly like real money within TikTok Ads Manager. There are no restrictions on which campaign types it can be used on, and it doesn't expire quickly (30 days from deposit, typically).
Who qualifies
- New TikTok for Business accounts only. If you've run ads on TikTok before — even years ago, even a single test campaign — you likely don't qualify. The system checks account age and prior spend history.
- Registered through a qualifying partner link. Direct TikTok registration doesn't always trigger the offer. Using a partner link (like the one below) ensures the credit is attached to your account at signup.
- Country-eligible accounts. The offer is available in most English-speaking markets (US, UK, CA, AU) and across most of Europe and Southeast Asia as of August 2026. A handful of markets are excluded; the TikTok for Business help centre has the current country list.
- Payment method on file before first spend. Your credit card or PayPal must be added before you start spending. Accounts that add payment after first spend sometimes miss the tracking window.
How to claim it (step by step)
- Register through the partner link. Click the link at the bottom of this page. Do not go to ads.tiktok.com directly and register — the credit won't be attached.
- Complete your business account setup. Business name, country, time zone, and payment method. Don't skip any fields — incomplete accounts sometimes don't trigger credit eligibility.
- Verify your account is flagged for the promo. After setup, go to your account overview. Some accounts show a promotional banner at the top confirming the credit is attached. Not all do — if you don't see it, the credit can still be applied when spend thresholds are met.
- Run your first campaign. It doesn't have to be perfect — the spend threshold just needs to be met. A broad audience, single creative, $30/day budget, optimised for website conversions, running for 3–7 days will typically hit the first $100 threshold.
- Wait for the credit deposit. Credit usually appears within 5–10 business days of hitting the threshold. It shows as "promotional credit" in your billing section.
The most common failure modes
"I signed up but the credit never appeared"
Most commonly caused by: (1) registering directly rather than through a partner link, (2) having a previous TikTok Ads account on the same email or business domain, or (3) the account was flagged during review and credit was withheld. Contact TikTok Ads support with your account ID — they can usually verify eligibility and manually apply credit if you were wrongly excluded.
"My campaign spent $200 but I only got $100 credit"
The match tier is cumulative. The first $100 in spend triggers the first $100 in credit. Spending beyond $100 within the promo window should trigger the second $100 match — but only if the second tier is active on your account (not all markets have the full $200 match). Check your account's promotional terms in the billing section to confirm which tiers apply to you.
"The credit expired before I could use it"
Promotional credit has a validity window — typically 30 days from deposit. If you received the credit but weren't running campaigns actively, it may have expired. There's limited recourse here; TikTok support can sometimes extend, but it's not guaranteed. Plan to use credit immediately by keeping an active campaign running.
"I got the credit but my account was later suspended"
TikTok Ads suspensions during the first 30 days are not uncommon, particularly for new accounts with new payment methods. If your account is suspended, the credit balance is typically frozen with it. Focus on resolving the suspension through the appeals process before worrying about the credit.
Is it worth the effort?
Yes, if you're planning to spend at least $200 in your first month anyway. Getting $200 back in ad credit on a spend you were already going to make reduces your effective first-campaign cost by up to 50%. That's not a small deal when you're still learning what creative works.
It's not worth the effort if you're not ready to spend $200 in your first 30 days. Don't register just to start the clock and then scramble to spend — you'll be making worse decisions under pressure and may burn through the credit without getting useful data.
Register when you're ready to spend, not before.
Have your product page live, your pixel installed, and at least one piece of creative ready. Then register through the partner link below, complete setup, and launch within the week. That's how you capture the full $200 in matched credit without wasting your learning window.
The partner link below is set up to attach the credit to your account at registration — it's the difference between getting the credit and not.
